    Somenos Marsh Bird Sanctuary
    Birdwatchers will be thrilled to see such waterfowl and songbirds as Trumpeter swans, larks, robins, wrens and herons that inhabit the wetlands and tall grasses around the Somenos Marsh. Viewing platforms and short trails are on the site.

    Cowichan River Provincial Park
    Dubbed the recreation corridor to Duncan, this popular park offers access to almost any outdoor activity possible, including swimming, canoeing, white-water kayaking, tubing, camping, fishing, hiking and sunbathing. The adjacent abandoned rail line provides ideal condition for a horseback riding, hiking and biking trail, and the park also features the Cowichan River Footpath, a 20km scenic hiking trail. The park is located between Duncan and Cowichan Lake.

    Bamberton Provincial Park
    This beautiful park is conveniently located 40 minutes from Downtown Vicotira, and features both day-use and camping facilities. The warm waters of the inlet meet the land with a 225m (738ft) long sandy beach, and hiking, boating and windsurfing are all popular acitivites in the Summer.
